The Undeniable Difference between an Entrepreneur and a Business Owner!

Is there a difference between being an entrepreneur and owning a business? You bet there is!Inside most, if not all of us we dream of being our own boss, calling our own shots and building a business that is hugely successful and provides us with financial freedom. Is it within reach to everyone that dreams this, ABSOLUTELY!

So what happens between the dream and the acceptance of a job or the opening of a business that owns you? Somewhere between the dream and acceptance the dreamer has compromise and settled into a "reality" that the pie in the sky dream is good for someone else but not for them. How very sad and unfulfilled is that?

Well, lets admit it, having a job is easier, it takes the stress off us to let someone else have the headaches associated with running that business right? Being an entrepreneur is really hard as well, think of all the worries to keeping a business running including the employees right? A resounding yes on both accounts, however the difference between having a job and being a business owner are very few! That's right you heard it. Typically the business "owner" is owned by the business because they have got caught up in having a job, being a slave to their business and still working in it as an employee. For those that can relate, think about it! What is the difference?

The difference between having a job and being an entreprenuer are vast. Now, lets get serious many people call themselves entrepreneurs but they just dont have a clue what this means at all!

So lets set the record straight right here and now, an entrepreneur possesses the following traits:

  • a willingness to risk taking beyond the comfort zone
  • an unwavering belief beyond all the advice that you are crazy

  • a great big hairy dream that they can visualize, taste and feela vision that is so vivid, even blindness couldn't erase

  • a keen sense of intuition - a knowing that they will succeed

  • a mouthwatering hunger for their ideal of success

  • an ability to share their idea with passion that is a sales skill only an entrepreneur has

  • a never give up, never give in one track mind

  • a fired up enthusiasm that is contagious and makes others know they will succeed

  • a giving heart

  • a fearless, not reckless state of being

  • a knowing that no woman is an island and accomplishing great big dreams can be done easier with a team

  • a willingness to give credit where credit is due a burning desire that keeps them standing inside the fire even when the heat is unbearable

  • being able to listen to advice, process it, keep the good and expel the trash

  • an ongoing thirst for knowledge and learning new innovative ways to grow

  • a unique approach to personal leadership that allows others to grow in themselves

  • a deep understanding of building solid relationships to grow their business

  • a deep knowing that they don't know it all and a willingness to learn

  • and finally a drive that keeps them doing it all even when the money is not pouring in!

Think about these traits, really think about them - can you answer yes to all of them? If you can then what is really holding you back?
